Health and Safety

Our THINK! programme empowers every individual, at every level, to take ownership of their own safety and that of their colleagues. We encourage each person to use their head — to think before starting a job.

The THINK! Safety programme at Cobre Las Cruces is a practical, common-sense approach to risk management, fully embedded within our Health and Safety Management System, which is certified to ISO 45001.

It is built on our Life-Saving Rules.

We train our people to assess their surroundings, identify hazards, take action using the extensive training provided by Cobre Las Cruces, and support their colleagues whenever needed.

The THINK! Safety programme is grounded in the CRM (Crew Resource Management) safety framework, adapted to the mining sector. CRM training focuses on non-technical skills — teamwork, decision-making and communication — to enhance situational awareness and problem-solving, all of which contribute to improved safety performance.

We want everyone who works at Cobre Las Cruces to return home safely to their families at the end of every shift.

At Cobre Las Cruces, our first commitment is to the health and safety of everyone who works with us.

We work towards a Zero Harm objective, and to achieve it every individual must be committed to reducing risk to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
